Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to penalize staff members Rs 100,000 for breaking the no-smoking policy during flights.
The PIA management took note of a staff member who was observed smoking onboard. The decision has been made to penalize staff members who are observed smoking on flights Rs 100,000.
The management of the national flag carrier said in a circular: “Recently one of our aircraft was subject to SAFA inspection, during the inspection cockpit crew were found violating the “NO SMOKING ON BOARD” policy.”
It declared that smoking is completely prohibited on airline property. Any crew member found to have broken the rules might face a punishment of up to Rs. 100,000. It is once again emphasized that the other crew members must report such transgressions as per earlier circulars.
According to the airline, the staff members must strictly obey the directive. If they didn’t, the other crew members on those flights would be deemed to have violated company rules and would also face the same sanction.
