The automobile industry in Pakistan has been facing a severe slump due to the economic crisis and import restrictions. However, some carmakers have managed to sell a decent number of vehicles in June 2023, despite the challenges.
According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), the car sales in June 2023 were 6,034 units, which is 10% higher than in May 2023, but 79% lower than in June 2022. Honda Atlas, Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC), and Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) were the main contributors to the sales.

Toyota Yaris
Toyota Yaris is a subcompact sedan that was launched in Pakistan in March 2020. The vehicle has a sleek exterior, a comfortable cabin, and a fuel-efficient engine. Toyota IMC sold 381 units of Yaris in June 2023, making it the fourth best-selling car of the month. The sales increased by 74% compared to May 2023.
Toyota Hilux
Toyota Hilux is a pickup truck that has become a status symbol in Pakistan. The vehicle has a rugged body, a robust engine, and a luxurious interior. Toyota IMC sold 573 units of Hilux in June 2023, making it the third best-selling car of the month. This is the second consecutive month that Hilux has made it to the top five list.
Toyota Corolla
Toyota Corolla is a compact sedan that has been the best-selling car in Pakistan for many years. The vehicle has a reliable performance, a spacious interior, and a decent resale value. Toyota IMC sold 604 units of Corolla in June 2023, making it the second best-selling car of the month. The vehicle is expected to be replaced by Toyota Corolla Cross soon.
Suzuki Alto
Suzuki Alto is a hatchback that has been dominating car sales in Pakistan since its launch in June 2019. The vehicle has an affordable price, a low maintenance cost, and a high fuel economy. Suzuki PSMC sold 1,913 units of Alto in June 2023, making it the best-selling car of the month by a huge margin. The vehicle accounts for almost one-third of the total car sales in June 2023.
