Arms license Fees in Pakistan: Here’s How To Apply

Punjab Resumes Issuance of New Arms Licenses – A Step-by-Step Guide

In a significant move, the caretaker government in Punjab has decided to lift the ban on issuing new arms licenses, bringing relief to residents who have long awaited this decision. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to apply for a gun license in Punjab.

Step 1: Obtain the Application Form

To kickstart the process, you need to acquire the official application form. You can conveniently download it online or visit either the DC Office or the Ministry of Interior to pick up a physical copy.

Step 2: Complete the Application

Once you have the application form, ensure that you fill it out accurately and comprehensively. This includes providing all the required information.

Step 3: Gather Essential Documents

Attach all the necessary documents to your application, which typically include a copy of your CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card), two recent passport-size photographs, and a copy of the NTN Certificate if you are a taxpayer. Additionally, if your profession or services are relevant to your application, include the Certificate of Profession/Services.

Step 4: Submit Your Application

Head over to either the Deputy Commissioner’s Office or the Ministry of Interior to submit your completed application form along with the essential prerequisites. Don’t forget to pay the prescribed fee. At this stage, you will also have to complete the biometric verification process.

Step 5: Await Approval

Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed, and if everything is in order, you can expect approval. Be patient during this phase, as the authorities carefully assess all applications.

Step 6: Visit Nadra Data Acquisition Unit (DAU)

After receiving the initial approval, proceed to the Nadra Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) for further processing. This step is crucial for the verification process.

Step 7: Final Approval and License Collection

Upon completing the necessary steps, your application will be reviewed by an Assistant Manager. Once approved, you will receive a slip indicating that your license is ready for collection. Make sure to thoroughly review all the details on your license when you pick it up.

Important Note: Reduced Fees

The government has taken steps to make the process more accessible by significantly reducing fees. The All Pakistan Arms License fee has been slashed from Rs100,000 to just Rs15,000. Duplicate arms licenses can now be obtained for Rs. 5,000. Keep these revised fees in mind when preparing your application.

This digitized and streamlined process not only makes it easier for Punjab residents to apply for arms licenses but also enhances the government’s ability to regulate the possession of firearms, thereby contributing to increased security. Remember to follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth application process for your gun license in Punjab.
