Sindh Land Registration App Launching Soon: Register Your Land Easily!

The Sindh government’s revenue department is set to revolutionize land registration with the launch of a user-friendly smartphone app. Caretaker Minister for Revenue, Commerce, and Industries, Muhammad Younus Dagha, shared this exciting development with various delegations representing the community.

Once rolled out later this month, the app will empower applicants to conveniently monitor the status of their land registration applications online, eliminating the need for repeated visits to the revenue service offices. This innovative solution has made possible through collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), ensuring that people can swiftly verify the progress of their applications.

Dagha highlighted that recent scrutiny uncovered significant tampering with the province’s revenue records. In response to this issue, the revenue service records digitized to safeguard against future alterations. Banks have been hesitant to accept land documents issued by the revenue service due to this risk, but the new computerized system will eliminate the possibility of fraudulent activities.

Additionally, the revenue department is also digitizing records of industrial lands managed by the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate, with plans for completion by December. This reflects the interim provincial government’s commitment to establishing a robust mechanism to rectify and protect revenue records. Rectifying land records will significantly ease the burden on citizens who face challenges caused by unauthorized changes in revenue records.

Dagha further emphasized the potential of harnessing the province’s vast mineral resources to enhance the national economy. Noting the success of Thar coal reserves in electricity production, he urged the exploration of copper and granite reserves for economic development.

In September, the Sindh Board of Revenue (BoR) and the PITB entered into a service level agreement to automate field revenue offices using digital technology. This initiative aims to transparently preserve records and provide online services for land-related matters, enhancing accessibility and efficiency for the public.
