In a remarkable development to improve public transportation in Karachi, the Sindh government has unveiled the eagerly awaited “Peoples Bus Service.” This innovative addition to Karachi’s transportation landscape is set to provide residents with efficient and accessible transit options, promising to redefine the way they commute.

A Breath of Fresh Air for Commuters:

The People’s Bus Service introduces state-of-the-art air-conditioned red buses, each with a comfortable seating capacity for approximately 40 passengers. These buses also offer dedicated spaces for women, ensuring a safe and inclusive travel experience. For those who prefer to stand, there’s room for an additional 40 passengers, making these buses a versatile choice for everyone.

Affordable Travel for All:

One of the most attractive aspects of this new service is its affordability. For most routes, the fare stands at a budget-friendly PKR 50. The only exception is Route 9, which charges PKR 100 after Malir Halt. This means that more residents can enjoy a comfortable and reliable mode of transport without breaking the bank.

Convenient Operating Hours:

The People’s Bus Service operates from 7 am to 10 pm, covering the crucial hours when people need to get to work, run errands, and return home. During peak hours, the buses are scheduled with a headway (time gap) of approximately 15 minutes, ensuring that commuters don’t have to wait for extended periods. During off-peak hours, the headway extends to 30 minutes, offering flexibility while still maintaining a reliable schedule.
