Controversy Resolved: KMU Implements Stringent Protocols for MDCAT Retest Following Unprecedented Challenges
In response to the controversial Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) conducted by Etea, the Khyber Medical University (KMU) has announced the finalization of arrangements for a comprehensive retest. The upcoming examination, scheduled for November 26, will be held in seven cities across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The initial test, conducted on September 10, faced severe scrutiny due to candidates employing modern electronic gadgets for cheating. The Peshawar High Court (PHC) intervened, leading to the formation of a joint investigation team by the government to probe irregularities. In a decisive move, the PHC instructed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to facilitate a retest within six weeks.
Test Venues:
The retest will span seven cities, namely Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, Swat, Chakdara, Kohat, and Dera Ismail Khan. Multiple examination centers have strategically established in each city to accommodate candidates and ensure a smooth process.
Admission Requirements:
To streamline the examination process, candidates must download their roll number slip/admit card from the official KMU website (www.cas.kmu.edu.pk) and affix a recent photograph. Original documents, including Identity Card, Passport, Form B, and admit card, are mandatory for entry to the examination center.
Strict Security Measures:
With a focus on maintaining the integrity of the test, stringent security measures have put in place. Candidates explicitly prohibited from bringing electronic devices such as cell phones, smart digital watches, and headphones. Violators will face severe consequences, including police intervention, FIR lodging, imprisonment, fines, and a two-year debarment from future KMU examinations.
For candidates’ convenience, traffic plans are available on the official website. KMU is ensuring that all candidates are provided with essential items such as a ballpoint, clipboard, food packet, juice, biscuits, and napkins. Emphasizing a hands-free entry to the examination center, KMU committed to conducting a fair and transparent examination, addressing previous concerns and upholding the credibility of the MDCAT results.
