The esteemed spiritual luminary, Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the revered leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, embarked on a momentous journey to Karachi on Monday, accompanied by his family. The Sindh government, in an official statement, revealed that the dignitary was accorded a warm reception upon his arrival in the bustling metropolis.
Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, played host at the historic Old Terminal in Karachi, extending a gracious welcome to the globally influential spiritual guide. Joining the reception committee were notable figures including former Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala, and other prominent members of the Bohra community. Together, they presented fragrant bouquets, symbolizing goodwill and harmony.
This visit to the provincial capital was a response to a joint invitation extended by the government and the Bohra community. Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s arrival from Sri Lanka marked a significant event, reinforcing the strong bonds between the spiritual leader and the community.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr Syedna conveyed heartfelt thanks to caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Bagar and the assembled dignitaries for the warm and gracious welcome. This reciprocation of warmth echoed his previous visit to Karachi last year, where he engaged with members of the Bohra community.
In a poignant moment, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, in a previous meeting with the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, had earnestly requested his prayers for the development and prosperity of the country. The visit serves not only as a spiritual communion but also as a symbol of unity and shared aspirations for progress and well-being.
