In a recent development, the Sindh Education Department has officially declared that the academic year for schools in the province will kick off on April 15. This decision follows a thorough review by the Steering Committee under the guidance of Provincial Minister for Education, Raana Hussain.
New Academic Year 2024:
The Education Department’s spokesperson revealed that, as per the committee’s decision, the new academic year for schools will commence on April 15, while colleges are scheduled to begin their academic year on August 1. This decision aims to streamline educational activities across the province.
Maintaining the Vacation Schedule:
Interestingly, the committee has decided to uphold the existing schedule for winter and summer vacations. This strategic move ensures consistency in the academic calendar, providing students and educators with predictability in their planning.
Examination Schedule:
Matriculation exams are set to commence in the first week of May, followed by intermediate exams starting in the last week of the same month. The results for matric exams will be announced by July 31, and intermediate results are expected to be declared by the second week of August.
During the summer vacation period, which aligns with the warm season in the region, teachers will benefit from a 15-day training session. This initiative emphasizes continuous professional development, contributing to the overall enhancement of the education system.
