In a significant move towards enhancing citizen convenience, the Punjab government, under the leadership of the Caretaker Chief Minister, has unveiled a series of measures to streamline the process of obtaining a driving license.
As part of these reforms, the Chief Minister has announced a notable reduction in the waiting time for the retake of the driving license test. Previously, applicants had to endure a 42-day wait for a retake, causing inconvenience and delays in the licensing process.
Effective immediately, the Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities to slash the retake duration to a mere 15 days. This strategic decision aims to expedite the licensing procedure, ensuring a more efficient and user-friendly experience for aspiring drivers.
The announcement came during an impromptu visit by the Chief Minister to the Police Khidmat Markaz at Liberty Chowk, Lahore. During the visit, he attentively listened to the concerns and complaints of the people, underscoring the government’s commitment to responsive governance.
These proactive measures reflect the government’s dedication to fostering a citizen-centric approach, addressing the needs and challenges faced by individuals in the licensing process. The reduction in the retake waiting period is expected to be particularly welcomed by applicants, further streamlining the journey towards obtaining a driving license in Punjab.
As the government continues to prioritize ease of access and efficiency, these reforms mark a positive step forward in ensuring a more seamless and expeditious experience for citizens navigating the driving license application process.
