Persistent Fog Disrupts Air Travel in Punjab and Sindh: 89 Flights Canceled in Three Days
Unrelenting fog continues to wreak havoc on air travel in Punjab and Sindh, causing the cancellation of 26 flights today and a staggering total of 89 flights over the past three days. The aviation sector is grappling with the persistent challenge of low visibility and adverse weather conditions, impacting both domestic and international flights.
According to sources within the aviation industry, numerous international flights destined for Lahore and Sialkot are currently on hold, awaiting improved weather conditions to resume operations.
Today, notable flights affected include PK 248 from Dammam to Lahore and PK 244 from Dammam to Sialkot. Both flights redirected to Islamabad due to the unfavorable weather conditions. Sialkot Airport, in particular, faced disruptions as no flights were able to land until 8:30 AM, underscoring the severity of the visibility challenges.
This unforeseen weather phenomenon is posing a significant challenge to travel plans and airline schedules, prompting travelers to stay updated with the latest information from airline authorities. As the aviation sector continues to navigate these adverse conditions, passengers advised to check for real-time updates on flight statuses and make necessary adjustments to their travel plans.
