Murree Snowfall Traffic Plan 2024: One-Way Routes, Parking Points & Helpline

In a proactive move, the Traffic Police in Murree have recently implemented a robust traffic management plan to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the snowfall season. The strategic plan encompasses various measures aimed at enhancing safety and convenience for both residents and tourists.

Restriction on Heavy Vehicles:

As part of the comprehensive plan, heavy vehicles will be restricted from entering the city during the snowfall season. This step is crucial in preventing potential traffic jams and ensuring the safety of all road users.

Designated Parking Points:

To alleviate parking concerns, designated points have been allocated for car parking. This measure aims to organize parking spaces efficiently, minimizing congestion and optimizing the overall traffic flow.

Emergency Helpline for Tourists:

In an effort to provide timely assistance to tourists, an emergency helpline (051-9269200) has been established. This dedicated helpline will offer guidance and support, ensuring a prompt response to any unforeseen situations.

One-Way Traffic on Key Roads:

To streamline traffic flow, major roads such as Kashmir Point, Mall Road, Guldana Road, and others have been designated for one-way traffic. This directional approach is intended to prevent gridlock and enhance the overall efficiency of the road network.

Traffic Control Rooms and Facilitation Centers:

Two traffic control rooms, strategically located at Jinnah Hall Murree and Suni Bank Traffic Picket, will serve as central hubs for providing assistance to tourists. Additionally, 12 facilitation centers have been set up across key areas to cater to the needs of visitors, ensuring a seamless experience during their stay.

This proactive and well-thought-out traffic management plan reflects the commitment of the Traffic Police in Murree to prioritize the safety and convenience of all road users, especially during challenging weather conditions. By implementing these measures, the city aims to enhance the overall experience for residents and tourists alike, making Murree a safe and enjoyable destination even during the snowfall season.
