Pakistan’s Flight Cancellations Today: Updated Schedules and Rerouting

In a recent update from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), multiple flights to and from Islamabad and Peshawar faced disruptions, including diversions, cancellations, and rescheduling, all due to challenging weather conditions.

Last night, Islamabad witnessed a series of diversions as low visibility prompted rerouting of several inbound flights to Lahore. Notable diversions included Qatar Airways flight QR-288 from Doha, Serene Air flight ER-502 from Karachi, Airblue flight PA-211 from Dubai, Saudia flight SV-275 from Riyadh, PIA flight PK-180 from Dubai, and FlyNAS flight FN-719 from Jeddah. Ground transportation was provided to ensure passengers reached their intended destination in Islamabad.

Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar also experienced significant disruptions. Emirates flights EK-636/637 to and from Dubai, PIA flights PK-257/258 to and from Sharjah, PIA flight PK-284 from Dubai, Gulf Air flights GF-784/785 to and from Bahrain, and other Sharjah flights faced cancellations or rescheduling.

Flight Reroutings:

Qatar Airways Doha-Peshawar flights QR-600/601 were rerouted via Islamabad, with reassurances that stranded passengers would be accommodated on alternative flights. Similarly, Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-793 from Riyadh to Peshawar found an alternative route through Islamabad.

PCAA’s Advisory:

A spokesperson for PCAA urged travelers to verify the latest flight schedules with their respective airlines before heading to the airport. The unpredictable weather is anticipated to persist across various parts of the country, potentially leading to additional delays and cancellations.
