In a significant development, Sharjeel Inam Memon, former Sindh minister for transport and mass transit, proudly announced the arrival of a fresh fleet of buses for Karachi’s People’s Bus Service.
Sharing the exciting news on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader emphasized that these buses were acquired under the auspices of the PPP’s Sindh government. Memon expressed his enthusiasm for the project, describing it as an “amazing service” now available to the people of Karachi at an exceptionally affordable price.
Highlighting the imminent launch of the service, Memon assured the public that the buses would be operational within a few days. The People’s Bus Service, initiated in June 2022 during the PPP’s tenure, is an intra-district project aimed at enhancing public transportation in Karachi.
Notably, the buses for this initiative were sourced from China, reflecting the government’s commitment to modernizing and improving the city’s transit system.
