Learner Permits Made Simple
Learner permits are now issued on a daily basis, with a validity of 6 months. Aspiring drivers can easily kickstart their journey by presenting a copy of their CNIC, obtaining a Rs.60 ticket from any Post Office, and acquiring a Highway Code Book of traffic rules and regulations from the Traffic Police Office.
Age-appropriate Licensing
Punjab has streamlined the age requirements for different vehicle categories:
- Motor Cycle/Motor Car: 18 Years
- LTV (Rickshaw, Taxi, Tractor Commercial, Hiace): 21 Years
- HTV: 22 Years
Simplified Documentation Process
To obtain a learner’s permit, applicants need to submit the following documents:
- Copy of CNIC
- Rs.60 ticket from any Post Office
- Highway Code Book of traffic rules and regulations
- Medical Certificate from a registered medical practitioner
Fast-track Regular License Process
For a regular driving license, the process has been further simplified:
- Copy of CNIC
- 03 Passport size photographs
- Medical certificate from an authorized medical practitioner
- Medical Fitness Certificate (for candidates aged 50 years or above)
- Application form (A)
- Original learner permit (at least 42 days within the validity period)
- Relevant ticket pasted on the document
