KP Schools Back in Session After Extended Winter Break

The extended winter break in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has concluded, with all primary schools in the province resuming regular classes on Monday.

Due to severe cold and fog, the government had decided to extend the winter vacations for both government and private primary schools until January 13. A notification was issued, announcing the closure of all private and government primary schools (from playgroup to Class 5) throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during this period, citing the prevailing cold weather conditions. Furthermore, revised timings were implemented for middle/primary, high, and higher secondary schools (Classes 6 and above).

However, as of January 15, the Education Department has reinstated the old timings for middle and high schools. Middle and high schools will now commence classes at 8:30 a.m instead of 9:30 a.m and conclude at 2:30 p.m instead of 3:30 p.m.

Students and parents are advised to take note of these revised timings for a smooth transition back to the academic routine after the winter break. This adjustment aims to ensure a seamless return to the normal schedule while accommodating the changing weather conditions.
