In a recent development, the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has declared a temporary closure of all Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations across Sindh for a duration of two days. The shutdown is scheduled to commence from 8 am on January 20, Saturday, and will conclude at 8 am on January 22, Monday.
The decision comes as part of the gas load management plan implemented by SSGC to address the current gas shortfall. A spokesperson for the gas utility emphasized that this measure is essential to adhere to the sectoral priority order established for effective gas load management.
“In compliance with the sectoral priority order in force for gas load management, all CNG Stations in Sindh, including those operating on Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG), will remain closed during this 48-hour period,” stated the spokesperson.
This temporary closure aims to optimize gas distribution and ensure a balanced supply in the region. The SSGC encourages stakeholders and consumers to plan accordingly, considering the brief interruption in CNG services during the specified timeframe.
The gas utility remains committed to managing the gas supply efficiently, and this proactive approach is a strategic step to address the existing challenges in the gas distribution network. Stay tuned for further updates on the resumption of CNG services following the conclusion of the planned shutdown.
