As summer approaches, consumers are feeling the heat of soaring prices in the solar panel market.
The cost of solar panels has surged significantly, with increases ranging from Rs75,000 to 300,000 across systems varying from 7 to 15 kilowatts.
For example, a 7-kilowatt setup now demands over Rs920,000, marking a notable rise from its previous price of Rs850,000.
The upward trend persists, with a 10-kilowatt system now priced at Rs12.5 lakh compared to its earlier rate of Rs11 lakh.
Similarly, a 12-kilowatt system has seen a price increase to Rs16 lakh from Rs14 lakh, while a 15-kilowatt setup now costs Rs18 lakh, up from Rs15 lakh.
This surge in prices primarily affects grid-connected systems, with additional charges applicable for hybrid setups incorporating batteries. Consumers, especially those participating in the federal government’s net metering project, are feeling the impact.
The fluctuation in solar panel prices in Pakistan can be attributed to various economic factors and occasional political instability.
