KP Schools Ban Mobile Phones in Class to Boost Learning

In a bid to enhance the learning environment and academic focus, schools across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have recently enforced restrictions on the use of mobile phones during school hours.

The Education Directorate has communicated directives to all district education officers, emphasizing the need for a ban on mobile phone usage within school premises during instructional hours. The decision is rooted in the belief that the use of mobile phones during classes adversely affects students’ concentration and academic performance.

According to the Education Department, the prohibition extends to classrooms, where students are now required to refrain from using mobile phones. To ensure compliance, school administrators are tasked with collecting mobile phones from all staff members at the beginning of each school day.

The directive also highlights the importance of maintaining communication channels during emergencies. Staff members are encouraged to utilize the school’s landline or contact the school head through their mobile phones in urgent situations. However, the use of mobile phones is strictly limited to non-instructional periods.

Additionally, the letter emphasizes that obtaining permission from the school administrators is mandatory for capturing images or recording videos within the school premises. This measure aims to regulate and monitor the use of mobile phones for multimedia purposes.

The move is anticipated to create a more focused and conducive learning environment for students, ensuring that educational objectives are met efficiently.
