The revered Sufi saint, Hazrat Syed Muhammad Usman Marwandi, also known as Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, is being honored today in Sehwan with the start of the 772nd Urs ceremonies.
The Urs festivities were officially launched by Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, who paid his respects to Lal Shahbaz Qalandar by offering floral tributes at the holy shrine. Secretary of Religious Affairs Sindh, Manzoor Mahesar, warmly welcomed the governor. Other notable attendees included Commissioner Hyderabad, Khalid Hyder Shah, and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hyderabad, Tariq Razzaq Dahar.
Governor Tessori also participated in the traditional Dhamaal, immersing himself in the spiritual energy at Qalandar’s shrine.
As a gesture of gratitude, Ali Zulfiqar Memon, the Urs Committee Chairman, gifted Governor Sindh a traditional Sindhi topi.
Devotees from all over Pakistan, dressed in the symbolic red and black attire, joined the celebrations. To ensure the devotees’ safety and smooth entry, stringent security measures were put in place at the shrine’s entrances.
