Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government to Provide Ramadan Relief Package Rs10,000 to Deserving Families in Ramadan
In a bid to provide relief during the holy month of Ramadan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a Ramadan package worth Rs8 billion. The package aims to alleviate the financial burden on citizens and enable them to observe Ramadan without mental stress.
According to Advisor to Chief Minister on Finance Muzammil Aslam, the provincial government has allocated funds for this purpose, with an additional Rs5 billion earmarked for the resumption of the health card program.
Under the Ramadan package, each deserving family will receive Rs10,000. To be eligible for this aid, families must have a monthly income below Rs27,000. This initiative targets vulnerable households, ensuring they have the means to observe Ramadan with dignity.
Criticism was also directed towards other provincial governments, with Aslam highlighting that Sindh and Punjab had announced smaller relief packages of Rs3,500 and Rs5,000, respectively.
Earlier this month, the Punjab government launched the Ramadan Nigehban Package program, which involves distributing special hampers containing essential daily use items to deserving families.
The Ramadan relief initiatives by the KP government and other provinces aim to support economically disadvantaged households during the blessed month, reflecting a commitment to social welfare and solidarity within the community.
