In a significant development for the energy sector, solar panel prices in Pakistan have taken a nosedive. This price reduction has made solar energy more attainable for the Pakistani populace, who are increasingly leaning towards renewable energy sources in the face of escalating electricity tariffs.
The capital city has witnessed a substantial decrease in solar panel prices. Recent reports indicate that solar systems ranging from 7KW to 15KW have become more affordable by Rs. 200,000.
Specifically, the cost of a 7KW system has decreased by Rs. 100,000, bringing its current price to Rs. 825,000. Similarly, a 10KW system is now available for Rs. 1.125 million.
Moreover, the 12KW system has experienced a price reduction of Rs. 200,000, making its new price Rs. 1.4 million. The 15KW system, after a reduction of Rs. 200,000, is now priced at Rs. 1.6 million.
Interestingly, this price drop comes just before the summer season, a time when prices usually surge due to increased demand. This development is a stark contrast to last month when solar panel prices saw a hike due to the anticipated summer demand.
This trend towards more affordable solar energy is a positive step towards a greener and more sustainable future for Pakistan.
