In anticipation of the Youm-e-Ali observance on the 21st of Ramadan, Karachi’s traffic authorities have outlined a comprehensive plan to ensure smooth traffic flow. The main procession, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (AS), will commence from Nishtar Park and conclude at the Hussaniyan Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
The central majlis, a significant event of the day, will also held at Nishtar Park. The procession will then proceed towards the Empress Market in Saddar via Numaish, MA Jinnah Road, and Sea Breeze. It will continue its journey through Regal and Saddar, eventually returning to MA Jinnah Road at the Tibet Centre.
To facilitate the procession, certain routes will temporarily closed for regular traffic. However, traffic police will be on hand to guide motorists on alternative routes.
Once the procession departs from Nishtar Park, city-bound traffic will rerouted from Soldier Bazaar (Bahadur Yar Jung Road), Coast Guards, and Anklesaria Chowk to Nishtar Road.
Motorists from Nazimabad heading towards MA Jinnah Road will diverted from Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road, and then towards Garden to reach their destinations. Similarly, traffic from Liaquatabad to MA Jinnah Road will rerouted from Teen Hati Chowk to Jail Road, and then onto Martin Road. These vehicles will permitted to use the Jail Chowrangi Flyover and pass through Jail Road via Jamshed Road, Dadabhai Noorji Road, Kashmir Road, and then from Sharea Quaideen to Sharea Faisal.
Traffic from Stadium Road to MA Jinnah Road will allowed to use New MA Jinnah Road. These vehicles can then proceed through Dadabhai Noorji Road, Kashmir Road, and Society Light Signal via Sharea Quaideen to Sharea Faisal.
For those travelling from Gulberg to MA Jinnah Road, the route will be from Liaquatabad No. 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, then from the Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, Shershah to Mauripur.
All traffic, regardless of size, approaching from Gurumandir Chowk will be prohibited from accessing the procession route and will be rerouted to Bahadur Yar Jung Road. Traffic from Sharea Quaideen to Naumaish Chowrangi should proceed beyond Society Office Chowrangi.
