Sindh Government Set to Launch New Transport Projects Post-Eid

The Sindh Transport Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has announced exciting developments in the transportation sector following Eid ul Fitr. Memon, via his official platform on X, shared the uplifting news: “Good news for the people of Sindh. Under the guidance of Chairman @BBhuttoZardari, the Transport Department is gearing up to kickstart new transport projects right after the Eid Holidays.”

The upcoming initiatives include the launch of the second phase of the Women’s Pink Bus service, slated to begin post-Eid. Additionally, new routes for electric vehicle (EV) buses and the Peoples Bus Service are on the agenda for Karachi and Mirpur Khas.

In a bid to enhance connectivity, Memon disclosed plans for a free shuttle service between the Orange Line BRT and Green Line BRT, courtesy of the People’s Bus Service. Furthermore, the government plans to bolster the existing People’s Bus Service fleet by incorporating five hundred buses in the near future.

This initiative follows Memon’s earlier efforts, such as the acquisition of new buses for the Karachi Peoples Bus project in October 2023. These forthcoming projects promise improved transportation options and increased convenience for the residents of Sindh.
