Heavy Rains Forecasted for Karachi and Other Parts of Pakistan from April 17 to 19
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast predicting heavy showers and thunderstorms in various parts of the country, including Karachi, from April 17 to April 19. According to the Met Office, a strong westerly wave is expected to enter the western regions on the night of April 16, progressing to affect Balochistan on April 17 and extending to the upper parts by April 18.
In Sindh, areas such as Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad, and others are likely to experience heavy rainfall during the specified period. Similarly, Balochistan, particularly Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, and more, may witness rain with heavy to very heavy falls.
Furthermore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, and others, may experience rain, windstorms, thunderstorms, and snowfall in high mountainous areas. Hailstorms are also anticipated at isolated locations.
In Punjab, Murree, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and other regions are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms. Additionally, certain areas in Southern Punjab are likely to see rainfall from April 18 to 20.
The Met Office has advised against unnecessary travel during this period and urged all concerned authorities to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid any adverse situations.
