The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast warning of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the country from April 23 to 29.
Punjab to Receive Heavy Rainfall
Punjab is expected to receive heavy rainfall and thunderstorms from April 23 to 29, with intermittent rainfall predicted from April 24 to 27. Cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Sialkot are expected to be affected.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan Also Affected
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to receive heavy rainfall and hail from April 25 to 29, while Balochistan will receive rainfall from April 24 to 27. Cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Jacobabad are expected to be affected on April 25 and 26.
The heavy rainfall is expected to cause flooding in areas adjacent to Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, and the Kabul River from April 26 to 29. There is also a risk of landslides in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Murree, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The rainfall is expected to cause a drop in temperature across the country.
