In a devastating incident, the roof of a residential building named Jan Plaza in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area collapsed on Monday Night, resulting in the loss of one precious life.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, rescue teams and police swiftly arrived at the scene to assist. The injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where unfortunately, one individual succumbed to their injuries.
The building was declared dangerous before and families were evacuated from it as it was old and damaged. However, people living nearby complained about the market and shop owners who didn’t move after the warning from below the building, fearing it would affect their business. Sadly, the incident happened near the shops and vendors.
A Rescue-1122 official said that the balcony of a third-floor apartment collapsed, and as a result, five men present outside a medical store suffered injuries. Following a coordinated operation by the rescue team, all residents of the building were safely evacuated. The deceased has been identified as Muna Baig, as per rescue officials.
