Karachi, the city known for its heatwaves, is set to experience a much-needed respite. The mercury levels are predicted to drop starting today (Friday), thanks to calming sea breezes that will alleviate the intense heat. Additionally, forecasts indicate possible rainfall in certain northern regions of the country.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that continental air is currently dominating most parts of the country. However, a shallow westerly wave is expected to make its way into the western regions of Balochistan tonight, impacting the upper parts of the country by Friday.
In the next twelve hours, isolated areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Pothohar region are likely to witness rain-windstorms and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, gusty winds and windstorms are anticipated in south Punjab and upper Sindh during the evening and night. Stay tuned for more updates on this weather shift as Karachi cools down.
