The buzz around the upcoming iPhone 16 series has been building up, with speculations and leaks surfacing even before the iPhone 15 series made its debut. As the official launch is still a few months away, we’ve managed to get a glimpse of the iPhone 16 molds, revealing a subtle design modification for the Pro models.
An image of blue molds for the four iPhone 16 variants was unveiled by a French website, ShopSystem. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max continue to feature a squared camera zone. However, Apple has decided to deviate from this recurring design for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, possibly to avoid criticism.
Apple’s design philosophy has always been about practical progression, and it seems the tech giant isn’t planning to deviate from this approach anytime soon. However, minor tweaks are always on the cards. One such tweak is expected with MagSafe, Apple’s proprietary wireless charging solution since 2020.
A leaked image comparing the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro reveals a noticeable difference – the MagSafe ring at the back of the iPhone appears to be shrinking. This has led to speculations about reduced charging speeds and potential incompatibility with older iPhone accessories.
However, downsizing the wireless coil could technically enhance efficiency and reduce the bulkiness associated with Pro iPhones, according to 9to5Mac.
The blue molds also confirm some of the rumors that have been circulating, such as the altered camera layout for the standard iPhone 16 models. This design change implies that all iPhone models will now support spatial recording.
