In a recent press conference, Haider Ali, the head of All Sindh Private Schools, raised serious concerns over the conduct of matriculation board exams in Karachi. He has called for the cancellation and re-conduct of all exams held so far.
Ali pointed out that the exams, which have seen participation from over 350,000 students, have been marred by mismanagement. He criticized the exam administrators for their failure to effectively oversee the process. The absence of proper monitoring at the exam centers has further compounded the issue.
Highlighting the plight of the students, Ali questioned the legitimacy of the exam process. He drew attention to the fact that students are forced to take exams under open skies and on sidewalks. He posed a critical question – “Is this how ninth and tenth-grade exams are conducted across Pakistan?”
Ali has demanded immediate action to address the situation. He called for the dismissal of the exam administrator, citing the mental and physical distress caused to the students. He proposed that all exams conducted so far be canceled and re-conducted after a gap of 10 to 15 days.
The future of millions of children hangs in the balance as the authorities grapple with these issues. The call for action by the Chairman of All Sindh Private Schools underscores the urgent need for reform in the examination process.
