In response to escalating temperatures, the Ministry of Education has announced a further reduction in school hours. Effective immediately, schools will operate from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, as stated by Secretary of Education Mohyuddin Wani. This adjustment shortens the previous schedule, which ran from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Additionally, due to the intense heat, school assemblies and sports parades have been suspended.
Changes in Provincial Schedules
In Punjab, the summer vacation has commenced earlier than initially planned. The holidays will now end on August 14, with schools scheduled to reopen on August 15.
Conversely, the provincial government of Sindh has opted not to close schools ahead of schedule. According to the government, all public and private educational institutions under the School Education and Literacy Department will close as planned from June 1.
