Lahore’s Free Wi-Fi service is expanding thanks to a directive from Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This initiative aims to improve digital connectivity throughout the city.
Lahore Free WIFI Locations
The Punjab Safe City Authority has increased the number of active Wi-Fi access points for the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” from 100 to 200. These additional points bring the service to more areas in Lahore, including Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chohang, Shahpur Kanjran, Sunder, Valencia, and Maraka.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlights that this Free Wi-Fi service is part of the Digital Punjab Vision. It plays a crucial role in providing emergency connectivity. People can use it to reach police, contact family members, and access essential services such as women safety apps and Punjab police apps. The service also supports applications like WhatsApp and taxi booking apps, enhancing daily convenience.
However, the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” service focuses on utility and does not support entertainment apps like Facebook, YouTube, or TikTok. Each Wi-Fi device covers an area of up to 300 feet from its access point, ensuring broad coverage.
