Karachi Rain Forecast: Heavy Downpours Expected in July

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released its monsoon forecast for July, predicting varied rainfall patterns across Pakistan. As per reports central and northern Punjab, along with southern Sindh, are expected to experience above-normal rainfall this month.

For Sindh, specific districts including Mirpurkhas, Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Larkana, and Sukkur are likely to receive between 30 to 75 millimeters of rainfall throughout July. Particularly, heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in these areas during the second and fourth weeks of the month.

Karachi Rain Prediction:

In Karachi, the forecast details significant rainfall projections: around 50 millimeters are expected in the first week of July, followed by 75 millimeters in the second week, and 25 to 35 millimeters in the third week. Towards the end of the month, Karachi could receive a substantial amount of rain, ranging from 45 to 75 millimeters. However, the NDMA has cautioned about potential flooding risks in the city due to these anticipated rainfall amounts.

The authority also issued crucial safety advice for residents, urging them to take precautionary measures. This includes avoiding contact with electric poles and unstable infrastructure and refraining from driving or walking through waterlogged areas.
