Karachi experienced rain yesterday in the middle of a heat wave and extremely humid weather, bringing much-needed relief to the city’s residents. According to the Meteorological Department, different parts of Karachi saw varying levels of rainfall. Among these areas the most rainfall level recorded at Surjani town.
Surjani Town recorded 22 millimeters of rain in measurements. Along with Surjani, North Karachi followed with 14 millimeters, showing a decent amount of rain that certainly contributed to the city’s overall wet conditions.
In Gulshan-e-Hadeed, residents saw 10 millimeters of rain. The showers were not heavy but enough to cause some minor disruptions and wet the streets. Meanwhile, Malir Halt had 4.4 millimeters of rain, adding a light touch to the day’s weather.
Other areas of Karachi also saw rain, though in smaller amounts. Korangi received 2.5 millimeters, and Nazimabad recorded 1.4 millimeters. These areas experienced brief, gentle showers, which were a welcome change for the locals.
Additionally, the Old Airport area and Pehlwan Goth each recorded a mere 0.3 millimeters of rain. These were the lightest showers reported across Karachi, barely enough to make a significant impact but still part of the city’s diverse rainfall distribution.
As the rain cooled down Karachi’s weather, residents were happy and instantly got a boost in their mood. While the rains brought joy to many, the varying intensities across different areas highlighted how unpredictable Karachi’s weather can be.
