The spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, has arrived in Karachi. At Karachi Airport, he was welcomed by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is in Karachi for the annual Ashara Mubaraka gathering during Muharram, which commemorates the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussain (AS).
A big welcome for Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin by Governor Tessori, Chief Minister Shah, and other officials greeted him on arrival. Dawoodi Bohra community leaders in Karachi were also there.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin chose Karachi as the host city for this year’s Ashara Mubaraka gatherings at the invitation of the Pakistani government and the local Dawoodi Bohra community. More than 80,000 Dawoodi Bohras from Pakistan and around the world expected to attend the event.
Shabbir Hariana Wala, the media coordinator for the Dawoodi Bohra community in Karachi, stated that Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin selects a different city each year for the Ashara Mubaraka gatherings. He expressed pride in the choice of Karachi for this year’s event.
He added, “We are grateful to the government and local authorities for their support and assistance in hosting thousands of participants and ensuring their comfortable stay in the city.”
