Karachi is facing a severe heatwave, affecting over a thousand residents with extreme temperatures. Medical camps and hospitals are filled with patients seeking relief. At Civil Hospital, two people have died from heatstroke.
On MA Jinnah Road, a medical camp treated around 400 patients. The Edhi Foundation helped 616 individuals, and the Chhipa Foundation attended to 209 patients during the Ashura procession. The Sindh Rescue Team 1122 transported over 500 patients, with three taken to Civil Hospital for further treatment. The emergency ward there received 22 heat-affected patients.
Dr. Shahid Rasool, executive director at Jinnah Hospital, advised citizens to stay hydrated with cool drinks and wear wet towels when going outside during the intense heat. The city is battling the heatwave, with medical teams working tirelessly to aid those in need.
