Altaf Hussain Wins Legal Battle Against MQM-P: UK Court Orders £65,000 Payment

MQM founder Altaf Hussain has been awarded £65,000 (Rs23.3 million) in legal costs by the UK Court of Appeal. The court’s decision overturns a previous ruling in favor of MQM-Pakistan leaders. Hussain’s lawyer will receive £77,760, which was previously held back.

This development is the latest in a long-standing legal battle between Hussain and MQM-P leaders, who defected from his party in 2016. The dispute revolves around the ownership of seven London properties valued at GBP10 million. Last year, the court ruled in favor of MQM-P, declaring them the beneficiaries of the trusts and properties.

However, the Court of Appeal’s recent decision has shifted Hussain’s favor. MQM-P spokesperson Mustafa Azizabadi has announced that Hussain plans to claim over £100,000 in legal costs from MQM-P. The party’s leader, Syed Aminul Haque, has confirmed that he will comply with the court orders.

This legal battle highlights the ongoing feud between Altaf Hussain and MQM-P leaders. The case has significant implications for the ownership of valuable properties and allocating legal costs.
