JI Dharna to Expand to Karachi and Other Major Cities

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman announced that the party’s ongoing sit-in protests will be extended to Karachi starting July 31. The sit-in in Karachi will be held in front of the Governor’s House Sindh. Additionally, JI plans to hold similar protests in Lahore and Peshawar.

Rehman stated that the party has no interest in disrupting daily life with roadblocks but is determined to challenge the influence of feudal lords in Pakistan. In response to the first round of negotiations held on Sunday, the government has agreed to release all JI workers who were previously detained.

JI Deputy Ameer Liaquat Baloch also confirmed that the party will continue its anti-inflation sit-in in Rawalpindi, following the initial talks with the government. This decision underscores Jamaat-e-Islami’s ongoing efforts to address inflation and advocate for economic reforms.
