Several private schools in Karachi have ignored the Department of Education’s order to extend summer vacations by 14 days and have reopened on August 1. This action has drawn serious attention from Professor Rafia Mullah, the Registrar of Private Institutions.
The Department of Education and Literacy, Government of Sindh, had issued a notification on July 23, directing all public and private schools in Sindh to stay closed until August 14. This decision was part of an effort to ensure safety and compliance during the summer period.
In response to the reopening of some private schools, Professor Mullah emphasized that all private school owners must adhere to the order and keep their institutions closed until the specified date. She also warned that any school found violating this directive would face strict legal consequences.
This situation highlights the tension between private schools and the Department of Education, as well as the ongoing efforts to enforce compliance with educational regulations in Sindh.
