The intense heat and humidity in various parts of Karachi were alleviated by light and heavy rain showers. According to the Meteorological Department, while there is no expectation of heavy rain currently, a new spell is predicted to enter the city on August 3, with heavy downpours anticipated from August 4 to 7.
Late-night rain was reported in areas such as I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Gurumandir, Lasbela, M.A. Jinnah Road, and surrounding localities. Heavy rain was recorded in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Karimabad, and North Nazimabad. This resulted in water accumulation on roads and disrupted electricity supply in various parts of the city.
Despite the relief from the heat, residents continued to voice concerns about civic issues. They blamed the Sindh government’s incompetence for ongoing problems, especially with drainage systems that remain unresolved.
