After recent heavy rains, Sindh’s Chief Secretary, Syed Asif Hyder Shah, has ordered increased vigilance from all divisional commissioners and Rescue 1122 teams. Emergency protocols are now in place in local government bodies and the health department to quickly handle any rain-related issues.
The Chief Secretary instructed the PDMA to ensure emergency equipment, machinery, dewatering pumps, and staff are ready to manage urban rainwater drainage efficiently. He emphasized the importance of keeping in constant touch with the Meteorological Department for weather updates.
He also told K-Electric, SEPCO, and HESCO to maintain a continuous power supply for timely water drainage. All departments must be fully prepared and respond quickly to any emergency. Citizens are advised to follow safety measures and contact authorities if needed.
