Starting August 7, Islamabad will introduce special pink buses dedicated to women students and teachers, following a directive from the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training announced that these pink buses will serve major routes throughout the federal capital, connecting rural areas with urban centers. This initiative is designed to improve safety and convenience for female passengers.
The primary goal of this initiative is to boost girls’ education and women’s empowerment by providing free and secure transportation. According to education department sources, these buses are set to enhance access to educational institutions and contribute to broader goals of inclusive development.
Education officials also mentioned that the operation of these buses will be regularly monitored and evaluated to ensure their effectiveness. The program is anticipated to encourage greater participation of women in education and advance gender equality in Islamabad.
