The Meteorological Department has predicted widespread rain across the country today, with Karachi expected to experience heavy rainfall today and Sunday. This heavy downpour may lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas, especially in Sindh, central and southern Punjab, and eastern Balochistan. The monsoon season is forecasted to continue until August 25, according to the department.
In Lahore, rain has already transformed the weather into a more pleasant atmosphere. Strong winds accompanied the showers in several areas, including Davis Road, Garhi Shahu, Lakshmi Chowk, and Gowalmandi. Other areas such as Bhati Chowk, Krishan Nagar, and Bund Road have also experienced rainfall.
Rainfall has been consistent in regions like Faisal Town, Model Town, Township, Main Boulevard, Gulberg, and Jail Road. Additionally, various parts of Punjab, including Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan, and Kasur, have reported rain.
Heavy rain has also affected several regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, bringing cooler temperatures but also raising concerns of possible flooding in vulnerable areas. As the monsoon continues, residents are advised to stay alert and prepared for any potential weather-related challenges.
