Latest Update on 6 September Holiday in Pakistan 2024

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) has confirmed that a notification circulating on social media about a Defence Day holiday on September 6 is fake. In a recent tweet, MoIB’s Fact Checker emphasized that spreading false information is both unethical and illegal. The ministry urged the public to act responsibly and avoid sharing unverified news.

Historically, Defence Day was observed as a public holiday in Pakistan, with the last federal observance taking place in 1997. However, the federal government discontinued the holiday starting in 1998, and it has not been reinstated since.
