In observance of Eid Miladun Nabi, which marks the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), all banks across Pakistan will be closed on September 17, 2024 (Tuesday). This announcement follows the Ruet Committee’s confirmation that the moon for Rabiul Awwal was not sighted on Wednesday, signifying that the month will commence on September 6.
Eid Miladun Nabi is a deeply significant occasion for Muslims, celebrating the birth of the final Prophet of Islam. It is a time for reflection on the Prophet’s life, teachings, and virtues, reinforcing the faith and devotion of the Muslim community.
As customary, public and commercial banks will observe a holiday on 12 Rabiul Awwal, aligning with global celebrations of the Prophet’s birth. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is expected to issue an official notification regarding this closure in the coming days.
