In a major development for consumers, solar panel prices have seen a substantial reduction across the country, making renewable energy more accessible. Reports on Friday indicated that prices for solar systems ranging from 5 to 15 kilowatts have dropped by as much as Rs300,000.
The market has now set new price points for various solar systems. A 5-kilowatt system is priced at Rs650,000, while a 7-kilowatt system is available for Rs725,000. For larger setups, the cost of a 10-kilowatt system has decreased to Rs950,000, and a 12-kilowatt system is now priced at Rs1.1 million.
- 5 Kilowatt System: Now priced at Rs650,000
- 7 Kilowatt System: Reduced to Rs725,000
- 10 Kilowatt System: Dropped to Rs950,000
- 12 Kilowatt System: Fixed at Rs1.1 million
- 15 Kilowatt System: Set at Rs1.25 million
On-Grid Systems and Additional Costs
These price reductions apply to on-grid systems, which are directly connected to the power grid. Consumers opting for hybrid systems, which include battery storage, will face additional costs. The largest drop was seen in 15-kilowatt systems, with a fixed price of Rs1.25 million.
This price reduction is expected to boost interest in solar energy, making it more affordable for households and businesses alike.
