Munim Zafar Khan, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, shared important news during a press conference at the Noor Haq Institute on Thursday. He said that the protest is a response to the government’s failure to keep its promises. Under the leadership of Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan is organizing sit-ins across the country.

The protest aims to tackle pressing issues like high electricity bills due to IPP agreements and unfair taxes on large landlords. Jamaat-e-Islami wants to put an end to the lavish lifestyles of the rulers and stop burdening the salaried class and traders with oppressive taxes.
Their ongoing movement, called the “Give Rights to the People Movement and Membership Campaign,” aims to empower the public and reclaim their rights from those in power.
