Environmental Benefits and Tourism Boost

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted that these hybrid buses represent the future of metropolitan transport. “These buses are more than just a mode of travel; they reflect our dedication to sustainable urban development and tourism promotion,” she stated during the launch event. The buses designed to reduce emissions and offer a more sustainable transport option for the city.

Previous Double-Decker Bus Services

The newly launched service builds on the foundation laid by the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (TDCP), which first introduced double-decker buses in November 2015 under the leadership of former Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. This earlier initiative well-received and catered to a wide range of passengers, from diplomats and state guests to the general public. The latest addition expands the reach of this service to a broader audience.

With the launch of these hybrid double-decker buses, the Punjab government aims to further improve public transport while promoting tourism. Plans are already underway to expand the service to other cities, ensuring that more people across Punjab can enjoy the benefits of this modern transportation solution.

The introduction of these buses expected to not only improve Lahore’s public transport system but also bring new life to the city’s tourism sector, making it more accessible and enjoyable for both locals and tourists.

Stay tuned for more updates as new routes added and the service expands to other cities across Punjab.
