Karachi, the city of lights, is about to face some water troubles as the Water Corporation announced that starting Monday, water supply to several areas will be disrupted for a few days. The spokesperson for the corporation made it clear that this is because of essential repair work that needs to be done.
According to the spokesperson, they need to install a new valve in a big 66-inch pipeline near Jail Chowrangi, which is part of the Old City trunk main. This work will cause a daily shortage of around 200 million gallons of water, and this shortage will last for three days.
Which Areas Will Be Affected?
Residents in many areas of Karachi should be prepared for the water cut. Here’s a quick list of the main areas where water supply will be hit:
- Chanesar Town
- Jinnah Town
- Keamari
- Clifton
- Saddar
- Gulshan-e-Iqbal
- Jamshed Town
- Liaquatabad
- Nazimabad
The spokesperson also advised the people living in these areas to store water in advance and use it carefully during this time to avoid any major inconvenience. The repair work is necessary, so a bit of patience is needed.
While this may sound like a hassle, residents are hopeful that the repair work will be completed on time and the water supply will return to normal. So if you’re living in one of these areas, make sure you’ve got enough water stored and don’t waste it during these days.
Stay prepared, Karachi!
