Banks Begin Receiving Hajj Applications Across Pakistan: All You Need to Know
Fifteen designated banks across Pakistan have started receiving Hajj applications under the government Hajj scheme from today, November 18, 2024. The application process will continue until December 3, with balloting scheduled for December 6.
Hajj 2025 Application Process and Payment Details
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, applicants must deposit Rs. 200,000 with their application. The remaining amount will be paid in two installments:
- First Installment: Rs. 200,000, payable within 10 days after the balloting results.
- Second Installment: Rs. 400,000, due between February 1 and February 10, 2025.
Government Hajj Quota and Sponsorship Scheme
For Hajj 2025, a total of 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj. Of this, the government Hajj scheme will accommodate 89,605 pilgrims, with 5,000 seats reserved for the sponsorship scheme.
The sponsorship scheme requires full payment in US dollars through a banking channel. This scheme operates on a “first come, first served” basis and does not involve balloting.

Pilgrims can choose between:
- Long Package: Lasting 38 to 42 days

Special Conditions and Restrictions
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has outlined specific conditions for pilgrims:
- Women Without Mahram: Women can perform Hajj without a Mahram if they are part of a group.
- Health Restrictions: Individuals with serious illnesses and full-term pregnant women are not allowed to perform Hajj.
- Children Under 12: Minors below the age of 12 cannot accompany their parents.
