Islamabad Protest Called Off: PTI Officially Ended The March Amid Arrests and Clashes

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially ended its protest in Islamabad after a dramatic series of events unfolded in the capital. The decision came following clashes between PTI supporters and law enforcement, leading to multiple arrests and allegations of excessive use of force by the authorities.

The protest, which had escalated near Jinnah Avenue and Seventh Avenue, saw demonstrators abandoning vehicles and scattering to avoid the police crackdown. According to PTI’s spokesperson, peaceful protesters were met with severe brutality. He alleged that workers were directly shot during the operation and confirmed the identities of eight individuals who reportedly lost their lives.

Condemning the police actions, the spokesperson expressed outrage over the deaths and the aggressive tactics used against their supporters. He announced the cancellation of the protest, citing the government’s strategy as the driving factor behind the decision. Future steps, he mentioned, would be planned as per the directives of the PTI founder.

Earlier in the day, a significant operation unfolded in Islamabad’s Blue Area near Khyber Chowk, where security forces moved in to disperse PTI supporters. Several demonstrators were detained, while others managed to evade arrest. As of now, the Blue Area has been cleared, and no further police activity is reported in the vicinity.
